We can not solve our problem with the same thinking we used when - TopicsExpress

We can not solve our problem with the same thinking we used when we created them, Come february 14, the exalted position in the political terrain of the social formation called Nigeria would be contested for by two gladiators who by public mirror are below average. While some opinion favors the incumbent, others see him as having scratched the surface in attempting to revamp Nigeria. Many reasons are given for and against depending on how stupid and or intelligent you see the listener. Which ever way the pendulum swings, one thing is certain, his victory would not be based on the reality of achievement on ground. Nigeria is yet to attain that stage where patriotism factors our sense of reasoning and logical approach to issue, There is no nonsense in what ever opinion one holds, different situations appeals to our mind based on the way we see things. His opponent, no doubt astute critics would walk on memory lane to laundry him, either convince, confuse and or disabuse our minds. His pedigree obviously is nothing to go by but then that was many years ago, some would argue. If the desired change should be given a chance, the sitting time bomb, Jonathan must be shown the way out loquacious observers conclude. In all that it is worth, get your facts first then you can distort them as you please. we will either find a way or make one. A man who wants to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd. If the facts be told, Nigeria is actually sitting on a time bomb. This is because whichever way the pendulum swings does not favor the electorate. The people in the political train asking for our votes, are the same ones that have brought us to this ruin, so what is the change we are clamoring for, to move from the known that did nothing to the unknown that would either mar or destroy us. This is an unpleasant situation of a case where the holder of the knife has the yam as well, leaving us with no choice other than to be bamboozled and cajoled with promises that has become a national anthem, lies and deceit that is now coming to them more naturally than telling the truth. I weep for my country Nigeria and my children and the unborn. It would take years for us to regain what is lost. I see the fall of Berlin, The division of former Yugoslavia, the actualization of the state of southern Sudan and many more who could no longer hold the center in my dreams and shudder at the price to pay which is gradually becoming inevitable by the day as the only alternative left for Nigeria. There is no such thing like a peaceful revolution which is not guided by a referendum. The warlords are not ready to lose what it took them many years to steal by agreeing to any referendum. The south is develop today from the sale of cash crops which form the export from the north, used in financing the exploration of oil that has become the only sources of the countrys revenue. They will not let go without a fight and spill of blood as is common in their nature. The geographical setting of the social formation coupled with its inter tribal religious ethnic rivalry makes Nigeria case a unique and difficult nut to crack. Former Yugoslavia, offers similar case study to adopt and experiment but at what price. It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extend of the difficult situation Nigeria is in trying to remain as one entity. It is not working. The earlier we come to terms with this reality the closer we are in solving the problem. What we have is a government of the few ruled by corruption and religion. A foundation that is conceived on deceit, corruption and religion would always strive to maintain itself on those indecies. The decay in our socio political and economic structure is no longer in doubt and the question is not if Nigeria would survive but at what cost? Victor Jackson
