We can not stress enough that all is well and this is not reason for serious concern. A hemipelvectomy is a huge surgery and some degree of infection is almost always going to happen. Brad was esp susceptible due to the fact that he had radiation prior to surgery. We knew this was a risk of the surgery. This is a localized infection. He is in the hospital for the simple fact that they are waiting for the cultures so they can treat the infection the best way possible. Please be reassured and comforted by the fact that this could have been MUCH worse. Brad has been blessed with a crazy wife and this was caught very early :)
