We cannot and must not form, shape, change or alter Gods word to fit our perceptions and understanding. As my brother Mark continually says We dont have any understanding. When a person speaks to me - please understand as much as I might love you if I cant find it in Gods word thats not true instructions. But why does the brother make that statement?? Well I can think of a few reasons, how about you? Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. 1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, He is THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR CRAFTINESS; James 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. Jude 1:19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. And my favorite: 1 Corinthians 2:14 A person who isnt spiritual doesnt accept the things of Gods Spirit, for they are nonsense to him. He cant understand them because they are spiritually evaluated. ISV When you ask a true believer a question - their answer(s) should always, always reflect the holy scriptures and not that persons opinions. If you dont know the word - then you cant know the Father!! You may know of him.... 2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.
