We cannot receive God’s gifts with closed fists. No, receiving requires open hands. What God pours into our hands, we pour out. And in God’s kingdom, there is always more to spare. Reflection 1.Are your hands open or are you tightfisted, like a child with a toy? 2.Have you practiced the grace of generous giving? If so, what happened? How did giving affect you? 3.Why would giving to God in order to receive from God not be a good motive? What’s wrong with this way of thinking? Malachi 3:10 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
