We cannot underestimate what a single act of kindness can do. From lemonade stand fundraisers to a paid for coffee at the till, kindness leaves a mark. Sometimes, a simple act leaves a profound impact. One act of courageous kindness in 1914, stopped the fighting during WW1 between German and British soldiers on Christmas Day. One act of gentle kindness from Pee Wee Reese, welcomed Jackie Robinson, an African American into Major League Baseball. One act of gracious kindness, from Pope John Paul II, led to forgiveness for Turkish gunman, Ali Agca, in his failed assassination attempt. Yet, our greatest reminder is from God himself. Romans 2:4 says, it is God’s kindness that leads each one of us to repentance. Not only a life that is changed, but an eternity. CITY LIGHT is a Cause Initiative focused on demonstrating Christ’s love, through intentional acts of kindness to our community. Starting, November 24 – Dec 1, all of us are challenged to spread light to our city, through simple, daily acts of intentional kindness.
