We certainly can find the humor in this, but a better response would be to repent and find out who Jesus is from the pages of The Holy Scriptures rather than from “Ricky Bobby”.* Does it sound ridiculous that someone would actually believe this? Really? Well I had never heard of this scene until while teaching a youth class I asked a question “Who is Jesus to you?. A young person gave me the same answer that Ferrill’s partner gave in the movie clip. AND he was serious! Not wanting to mock or belittle the young man, I asked where he got his interpretation of Jesus. Do you get your ideas of Jesus from Hollywood Or have you simply made one up in your own mind? Forming Him into a God that you can manipulate and control. This my friend is called idolatry and God despises it*. Like Will Ferrill and Co. you can mock God and make Him into anything you want BUT be warned, God will get the last word.* God is long suffering and patient. He wants ALL to come to repentance and turn to Him in faith through Jesus Christ.* But with each day, time is running out.* What about you? Who is Jesus to you? Is He a Talladega Night’s Jesus? Is He The Davinci Code Jesus? The Stone’s Sympathy For The Devil Jesus? Oprah’s Jesus? Jane Fonda’s Jesus? Bono’s? Gaga’s? Madonna’s?
