We continue our journey through the national anthems of european countries. After the founding members of the community, we listen the anthems of the three nations that form the first enlargement of the CEE: Denmark, Ireland and United Kingdom. In alphabetical order: Denmark, Der er et yndigt land commonly translated into English as There is a lovely country, is one of the national anthems of Denmark. Denmark and New Zealand are the only two nations in the world with two official national anthems. Officially, Kong Christian stod ved højen mast is both a national and royal anthem; it has equal status with Der er et yndigt land, which is treated as the civil national anthem. On royal and military occasions, Kong Christian is performed alone or the two national anthems are played together.
