We continue our series for voting of the baseball player for a given baseball season, for the MVP award. Its the National League and the year of 1973. For the 3rd time in the last 4 years, the player wears the letter C on his cap. After winning the NL battle title by hitting .338 and having a career high and NL best 230 hits, Pete Charlie Hustle Rose edges out Willie Pops Stargell for the 1973 NL MVP award. Rose collects 274 points and 12 1st place votes. (For the record Im on the side of he should be in the hall fence but understands the other side of fence argument.). Willie Stargell has 44 dingers, 119 rbis, bats .299. He collects 250 points and 11 1st place votes. The other 2 in the voting for Bobby Bonds - San Francisco -39-96-.283....174 points 1 1st place vote Joe Morgan -Cincinnati -26-82-.290....102 points 1 1st place vote
