We could be in for a late blow this season...as a possible hurricane...on Halloween?!!! GFS brings this one in just south of Tampa...hello, that is us! Still lots of time and time always tells. I do love talking with my meteorologist friends and fellow storm trackers...always interesting and knowledgeable, I learn so much from them. Ten years ago, I was in the Lower Keys with Charley approaching, news media warning of a direct hit right where I was. All of the Keys were evacuated, they were ghost islands. It was as scary as hell, but, I did as I was told. Personal phone calls from friends the NHC assured us that the storm would pass to the west, there would be wild weather and surge, but, we would be better off staying. The storm did stay to the west, the weather was wild and the surge came in from both directions...but, we were safe. Sadly, a very dear and longtime friend was killed when Charley took a fast turn and went into Charlotte Harbor. I think of Windsor quite often, miss him...he was a very good man who loved the ocean and now he is forever with her.
