We could not agree more with what Ty Stone posted on FB: Way to go, Jerry. I believe the reason that the city of Detroit is nearly barren because every time people come down here they get ripped off like this. On opening day, the parking lots were charging $60 to park for the day. A lot that usually costs $5-$10 during a tiger game tried that on my friend. I was embarrassed, honestly. And who knows the next time that guy is gonna come back down here and spend money because the greedy people of the world gouge average folks when they can. They rip a guy off once instead of giving him a good deal and making a return customer. Maybe he decided Detroit isnt such a bad place and catches a few Tigers games. Maybe he parks in the guys lot once a month instead of once a year if he chooses not to be a con-artist and charge a guy $60 to park his car. Im sorry, but until we get rid of the trash that weve let infiltrate every aspect of this city, no one is going to come back. Im sure everyone would love it if the city was populated with 250,000 hipsters all happily paying $60 to park, but in the end, if we really want to rebuild the city, we need to bring another 800,000 average folks back into the tax base, and that will never begin to happen as long as greedy people run this town. I feel the city government needs to start making a lot more decisions that make Detroit a MORE attractive place for people to come, not a place where your meter runs out (or is more likely broken like half the meters in front of my building where my friends all get their tickets) and you get charged $45. These people work FOR US! why are they trying to RIP US OFF? ughhh - Im with Jerry. I pay taxes in this city. I want a street parking pass, not more expensive parking tickets. Raise some money like the rest of us. WORK MORE you bums. I bet Jerry is at work right now. #TheBoulevard
