We couldnt be prouder of our young friend Zoë Madonna who earned the top prize at the 2014 Rubin Institute, just completed at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Big ups also to the rest of the Oberlin team: Daniel Hautzinger, Jarrett Hoffman, and Aaron Wolff (we are pretty sure any of you might well have won this thing if Zoe did not). A special shout-out to Dan Hathaway and Mike Telin (of ClevelandClassical) and Donald Rosenberg who teach the Music Criticism class at Oberlin Conservatory. I know personally what a great job they do because I audited the class. And finally, kudos to the critics panel at the institute who did so much to mentor these young writers: Tim Page, Anne Midgette, Alex Ross, Heidi Waleson, and John Rockwell. Follow the link to read Zoes reviews (and Thomas take note, we think youll enjoy how she has named her blog!).
