We creatures of Allah subhanahu wa taala just dont have any valid ground to be haughty like the accursed one.Theres so much to be thankful for, that even a long sujood of gratefulness to the Giver of life will not suffice and do enough justice. From a simple equation to a complex one: Why choose the kind of change that will lead you to your own destruction? This dunya indeed.. Yesterday you lived in a simple hut, eat organic food in three simple meals a day and much fasting in between, cook with a charcoal stove and never despise whatever form of food is served, with or without cutlery, cloth yourself with a wash and wear patched outfit, contented with a few coins in a pocket looking out for a chance to share with the needy, have genuine friends and walk with your foot carrying a humble, contented, problem-free, sincere, unselfish, ever reaching-out heart.. Now, you lived in an overly-furbished mansion, cook with a microwave oven, chefs and maids, eat out, hang-out, own a walk-in closet of miles long alley of designer gowns and a mall of private shoes and accessories, own credit cards and bank accounts that never diminish, but have nothing to spare for charity unless its covered by media, can no longer walk on foot or ride on mass transit but deemed luxurious cars and airplanes as already a necessity, with so many friends of assorted motives, and a darkened, cold, brutal, hypocrite, ill-tongued, extravagant and problematic heart... worse spiritually empty. In between these two starkly contrasting lifestyles and the various shades in between, know that they will all bring you to just a common end...the cemetery. From a mere congealed blood to ending as dust below our feet. How many more signs around us do we need to comprehend such a simple equation? Life is short and its shortness is not measured by tasting this dunya and cling lovingly to all its comforts. We are to fully-pack our baggage with the ultimate essentials and other vital extra power-ups as we are mere sojourners for the long journey ahead. ALMANARAH
