We cry and we laugh. We fight and we make up. We argue. We share stories. I don’t always understand why she does what she does most of the time. I don’t always agree with what she says. In fact, I often let my rebellious streak get the best of me, trying hard to prove to her (and me!) that I am powerful just on my own, that I can take on the world - my way! I say things I don’t mean. I mean things I don’t say. Yet, she’s still there for me. She still remind me to do the things I said I would do but never have, and never once has my name escaped from her prayers. She is my mother. My prayer warrior. My safe place, the one I hurry to when trouble comes. I don’t say it often, but I know there is a special place in my heart that is reserved especially for her. This short clip was inspired by the countless moments I forget to say “I’m sorry” when my selfishness gets in the way and the times I forget to say “thank you” for all that my mother was, is, and always will be. I know that I’m not the only one. I know that many of you know exactly how I feel. May you take some time today on this Mother’s Day to give your mother a hug or a kiss or even a call to tell her just how much you love her and how grateful you are to her for bringing you into this world.
