We deeply regret we have to cancel the Andy Frasco show. Andys agent received a call from Pipeline Productions and was told that since Highberry was within 60 days AFTER Wakarusa, that they would cancel his contract to play Wakarusa if he played Highberry. We are disappointed in Andys agents for signing a contract with us and then rescinding on that offer. We are disappointed in Pipeline Productions who are not even located in our beautiful state for trying to CONTROL the Arkansas music scene. I understand proximity clauses. As an artist myself, I do not believe in them unless we are talking about a very large high grossing act like Widespread Panic or String Cheese incident. I can respect a 30 day clause prior to an event. To tell an artist that if they want to play Wakarusa, that they cannot play in the state of Arkansas for 60 - 90 days before and after an event basically states that said band cannot play in the state of Arkansas for 4- 6 months if they play Wakarusa. This is bad for the scene. No worries though folks. We are still working on some amazing acts. Pipeline can try to hold us back but they wont be able to. Good vibes and good karma goes a long way and that is what we have on our side. Stay tuned for more exciting acts and again, we apologize for the cancellation. We still have some awesome surprises on the horizon that we cannot wait to announce!
