We demand an apology. Will you stand with us and make your voice heard? Please sign and share widely. A little more than a week ago, we relayed the story of the courageous acid attack survivor Shalu, who had been reduced to tears after being insulted by Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Shalu, on an indefinite hunger strike, and campaigning for restrictions on the sale of acid in open markets had scheduled a meeting with Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.. Shalu, not only a courageous survivor, but as an advocate for victimized survivors had watched too many of her own friends expire from acid attack complications. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje upon conclusion of her previous meeting walked right past Shalu, paying no attention to her. When Shalu introduced herself, and began to explain why she was waiting to meet with Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, the Chief Minister rolled up her car window, brushing Shalu off with an insulting comment. Now we ask that you to stand up for those standing up, by showing your disgust with Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje unacceptable behavior. Please, take one moment to make your voice heard. Let those in positions to act, who ignore the voices of the survivors, that they are complicit in this conspiracy of silence.
