We desperately need a set of after-breakfast-Dining-Hall - TopicsExpress

We desperately need a set of after-breakfast-Dining-Hall announcements! Why? Well, because we have so many things to announce to you all - many of them long overdue! So... Imagine that the tables have been cleared and wiped (sorry if you lost FREEZE or the nose-game, this time). Mike has been on the Bay and given a morning greeting (Happy Long Overdue Announcements Day, everyone! Happy Long Overdue Announcements Day, Mike!). Someone has done a Weather Report skit (Dont forget to wear your hat and sunscreen and have a great day!). And then...the following announcements: 1. Diana Smith-Jones who, most of you know, works in the White House as our Office Manager, and her husband, had a baby! His name is Logan! Hes adorable - especially when you see him all wrapped up in his winter gear and toque! Were so happy to have a new baby as part of the Tawingo community...and so happy for Diana and Shawn AND Logan (that lucky wee boy)! 2. Judy Payne - a full-time Tawingo employee for 24 years, and most recently, our Business Manager, left our White House team. We wish her the very best, of course...and miss her great laugh and great sense of humour. 3. Andrew MacDonald - MacD - our beloved Waterfront Director for the past four summers - has taken Judys place! Sooo good! 4. Jenn Head - who so many of you will know from her answering the phones here at Camp, replying to your e-mails, and greeting you as you come in the White House - has left us to pursue her passion in Outdoor Education and Recreation. We miss her, already - her contributions AND her character... 5. Laura Spiers and Dyanna Prisk have joined our Office Staff Team to take on Dianas and Jenns responsibilities. Diana will return to us sometime in the New Year, though... 6. John Jorgenson - Jorgi - was elected President of the ICF and has been to and come back from Australia providing Camp leadership there...and is about to go to Nigeria to do the same. 7. Tia Pearse was nominated for a Muskoka Award in the Arts; and was nominated for AND awarded a Woman of Distinction Award in the category of Mentor! 8. Glo Lovo - everyones FAVOURITE BAKER - left full-time work in our Kitchen to go back to school. Dont worry, everyone - she has plans to come back to Tawingos Bake Shop for the summer! 9. Merv/Miss Irvine has left the Grade 3/4 classroom at Tawingo College to eagerly await the imminent birth of her and MacDs first baby...indeed, we are ALL eagerly awaiting this babys arrival! [For those who are counting, that will be two new babies born here to the Tawingo community...to our little Ring Road neighbourhood!] Okay...then there would be a Flag Fact announcement (And thats our ______________ Flag Fact!) Mikes just put his chair up onto his table... And its off to Flagraising...then cabin clean-up...and then Interest Groups (Interest Groups, where can I go for Interest Groups...).
