We discovered that the source of Damians allergic reaction appears to be the CVN provided through is IV. They changed his schedule so that his CVN would start at 4:00...long after he had his morning meds and a while before his evening meds. The normal process was to start at 25ml/hr and increase at 7:00 to 50ml/hr. Thirty minutes after the increase, he began to have an allergic reaction that required Benadryl to stop. He had no oral meds at this time. Keep in mind that each night when he had his reaction, the rate of CVN was the lower rate at 25ml/hr, but a med might have made him more susceptible to the CVN at the lower rate causing the reaction, not to the oral med, but to the CVN.
