We do not always realize what it means when we tell somebody, ‘I believe in you. You have got what it takes, I am behind you 100 percent’. You need somebody to believe in you more than you believe in yourself, to see your potential, to look beyond where you are now and guide you to what God has planned for you. According to Proverbs 12;25, a word of encouragement works wonders! Casting your vote of confidence for someone has a way of expanding his thinking to create a real vision of victory for his/her life. The person whom such vote was cast will accomplish things that he/ she never could have before. Their success will come, in part, as the result of your faith, your confidence in them and the seeds you planted in them grow. Late Henry Ford, a renowned automaker had for sometime been struggling to come up with a car that will run on gasoline. Up to that point, he had encountered many naysayers and discouragers. As he was about giving up out of frustration, there came along Thomas Edison who spoke faith into him. That was a turning point in Henry Ford’s life. ‘Oh! That was a brilliant idea! You have got it!’ said Edison. Apostle Peter was almost swept off his feet; he almost lost his position as a disciple because of his shortcomings, inconsistencies, mistakes and some challenges confronting him. Yet Jesus looked beyond all that, saw Peter’s potential and spoke faith into him. Thus, he helped him formed a vision of himself rising higher and overcoming obstacles. Jesus’ word of encouragement helped Peter to put the past behind and became what he was created to be. The damage of a discouraging statement may take a long time to heal. Step up and volunteer to be someone’s number one fan. Encourage in words and action. Lift people up when they are down. Celebrate when they succeed. Pray when they are struggling; urge them to keep pressing forward. That is what it means to be a people builder. Today will be a great day for you. See you on top! Happy Weekend!!!
