We dont expect people to roll into our Crossfit as complete - TopicsExpress

We dont expect people to roll into our Crossfit as complete newbies and expect professional output immediately. As coaches, we encourage truthful and open communication between athlete and coach, as it will only improve the experience between us all. Ive known Bethany for awhile, more so via FB, but I know shes a fitness fanatic. She was always worried about CF due to a lifelong struggle with her knees. One day, she got in contact with me; she wanted badly to try, but hesitant about her knees. Heres the thing: a decent coach is going to encourage and motivate you, but also take into account your limitations and reservations. YOU, however, are your first line of defense to prevent injury (this is applicable in whatever form of fitness you are pursuing). We hammer on form and technique, but only you know if you arent feeling it that day, are weak in a specific movement, if youve just recovered over a stomach bug, whatever. This is a video of Bethany hitting her Crossfit totals via our Onramp classes. She is superb about communicating if she felt uncomfortable, or stopped because she was uncertain about the weight. A two way street of communication, it gives a coach and athlete direct feedback to keep the experience positive! Great squatting and getting below parallel,Bethany! ~Stacey
