We dont need cheerleaders as members of the local news and sports media. It took ESPN to get to the depth of the Ravens organizations lies. There was no I-Team investigation. There was no Coverage You Can Count On. There was no Baltimore Sun exposé. And, theres a reason. These people are all way too close to the Ravens organization. They can be threatened with denial of access. WJZ is the worst. I dont need to see alleged hard news anchors waving pompoms on the news. Become a cheerleader, if thats what you want to do. Its obscene that the local media was so poorly informed and lacked the basic curiosity to advance this story, instead being snowed by the team. WBAL had a sit down with the owner, in which its investigative team, headed by Jayne Miller, embarrassed itself. Black eye for local media. And, not because of a Ray Rice punch.
