We dont worship God for our own benefit; we worship Him because of who He is. Any benefit or happiness we may derive from worshiping Him is secondary. And our fleeting happiness on this earth is not His goal. He loves us as a parent loves a child, and let me tell you, my sons temporary happiness is not my top priority. His well-being and long-term, lasting joy are; and I will deliberately cause him to suffer temporary UN-happiness if I know it is in his best interests.
