We ended up with about 160 people in two sittings last Friday night at the Penetanguishene Community Arena - Brian Orser Hall. Special thanks to ELM Catering (Larry and Lorraine Lalonde), Fresh by Leanne (supplied flowers for table centres), Town of Penetanguishene gave us a special break on the hall rental, and we had about 30 donated items from local businesses and organizations that supported more than $1,000 in donations at the event. Jennifer and her team from the Gateway Centre for Learning helped out and we a group of volunteers from local municipal leadership: Mayor Gerry Marshall, Mayor Gord McKay and Cathy McKay, and Mayor Scott Warnock. Also joining in supporting were Midland Councillors Zena Pendlebury, Mike Ross, and Glen Canning, and Penetanguishene Councillor Michel Mayotte. Thanks to everyone on a successful fish fry - netting about $2,000 for literacy in our area.
