We enjoyed the first two hobbit films so much we went to see the third one at the cinema this evening. Thats after a very exciting trip out on the whale watching boat this morning . We saw three male Sperm Whales on the surface and then dive. Its amazing to watch them. We also saw some small sharks - the water is so clear here its easy to see them under the water. We saw Dusty Dolphins swimming alongside the boat and jump up and spinning having a great game. Also huge birds - Albatross - one was a Royal Albatross the other a larger Wandering Albatross . They can have a 2 & a half metre wing span! Impressive . It was a very informative trip and we learned a lot about the various wildlife we encountered. So a brilliant day. We also saw some very rare Hectors Dolphins near the shore - only found in NZ and only 300 left.
