We enter the Advent Season all too often thinking about what I can get ... who can give me something incredible ... teaching our kids that Santa is m a list and checking it twice with lots of goodies on his sleigh. Some friends children are dreaming of the eight days when the lamp stayed lit and of the gifts they will get. But, isnt it the truth of each of the major faith traditions in our world to be giving people not receiving people? Isnt it the truth that if you read and pay attention to the basic tenets of faith the message is to care for the poor and broken without any degree of judgment nor politicization of why they are poor? This video, which some of you may have seen since it is from last February, has left me in tears of joy (THANKS A LOT Dom Oshman!) but it contains a message I needed to hear and I think each of you will need to hear to. Frankly, I now have a twenty looking for a new home and am evaluating once again how I can do more rather than worrying about me. Hugs Dom ... you are an amazing man and I am glad you have come into my circle of friends!
