We feel shy or hesitate to say thanks or I love you to our parents because they are granted for us or may be we never told them or not used to it. But, we are very much used to say thanks, love u and all possible words to our romance partner or wife 1000 times a day even for a small reason because, they are our life partner. lol. Simple, a guy who can not love his parents can not love his wife or gf. Drama does not last for long time. History repeats. What you give you will get once for sure.
