We finally made it to Zoar! This was a trip Dad and I had been planning since last year but it always kept getting put off. This morning, it looked like rain and the forecast called for rain -- but we went anyway and the weather was great! Zoar was a village of German separatists who started a socialist colony in Tuscarawas County. They became very rich because of their hard work and obedience. We followed the Ohio Canal from Cleveland and stopped in Brecksville (Cuyahoga River bridge), Boston Mills and Fort Lauren (Bolivar, Ohio) before getting to Zoar. After Zoar we visited the General Custer Monument in East Rumeling and then went to see the German village in Schönbrunn near New Philadelphia. For supper, we went to Dresden (near Zanesville) and I had a chicken sandwich with bleu cheese! A couple of pics of the sunset near Wooster ended the day!
