We finished our campaign with one last contribution last night of $50 from Brad Fuhr who has been championing Gertie by putting her pics and videos and stories about her in the Gay Desert Guide though the whole campaign! WE finished above our goal at $15,550 and proud! Thank you, thank you to all for all the LOVE that brought this journey to the point of a dream that will be fulfilled. It has been the most beautiful feeling of community I have been a part of in a long time. I am grateful and excited and ready to take the next few steps on this path with a community rooting for me like nothing I have ever felt before! We are excited to announce that The PS Animal Shelter will be the location of Gerties Reveal Party in October and that the Desert Aids Project was the recipient of a donated perk that includes branding on Gertie and use of her for an event of their choice. We will be dreaming up something fun for November or beyond. It will take a few weeks to get the money out of the campaign but then we are off to the practicalities of fixing and painting and remodeling her. Please keep you eyes peeled.
