We fished today and the Gulfstream was pushing northwest all day - TopicsExpress

We fished today and the Gulfstream was pushing northwest all day long. We started on a weedline just north of The Point and got bailer (small, you can sling them into the fish box by hand) and gaffer (bigger, require gaff to securely land) size mahi (dolphin fish). We then moved north and caught more than a dozen yellowfin tuna, keeping two in the 30 to 40 lb class and throwing back the others as they were just under the 27 minimum size. We ran further north at the end of the day and looked for bigger yellowfin but once again only found undersize fish. We also got cut off by a toothy wahoo on one rig. We ran back in at 33 knots on a calm afternoon. Todays makeup party was a pleasure to fish with and we look forward to fishing with them again. We are open Sunday then haul out Monday for our annual bottom paint and other work.
