We gave our best: Dolokoto October 7, 2013 | Filed under: Fiji Sports | Posted by: newsroom By WAISEA NASOKIA We gave our best during the tour, says the proud Fiji Schoolboys captain Mesulame Dolokoto. The Queen Victoria School head boy thanked his teammates for the job well done including when they defeated New Zealand Schoolboys 22-20 in their first game in Sydney. “The boys played their cards very well during the tour and we gave our best especially against New Zealand,” said Dolokoto. “We have been told that most of the NZ U18 players will play in the Junior World Championship.” The team hammered New South Wales Country Schoolboys 74- 10 in its opening game, then came from behind to edge New Zealand 22-20, but lost both encounters to the Australian Schoolboys 31 – 7, and Australia A 32-17 respectively. He recalls that been given the captain’s armband was not an easy task. Meanwhile, the QVS U18 skipper was named as one of the non-travelling reserves for the Ben Ryan coached Digicel Fiji 7s team. “It’s a milestone achievement for me being named as a non-travelling reserve. It is an achievement in itself but I thank the Lord for the giving me the strength and I would wait to fullfill that obligation if called,” he said.
