We get a lot of enquiries from players on what is required to be a Professional Footballer. In this video this is me Tonys Soccer School scouting Dwight Gayle. This Video was me scouting the Youth B team of Dagenham & Redbridge in 2012 he was aged 22 then 1.77m tall. Dwight was at Arsenal as a child and was released when he was a teenager. As he got older he worked hard and then joined a team called Stanstead in the 9th tier of english football at the age of 20, He scored 57 goals in 1 season. He then applied for trials at Dagenham & Redbridge at 21. He passed the trial but was then sent on loan for 1 year to the 6th tier of english football. This Video is him at aged 22, he was in the reserves at Dageham, 1 month after this video he made his Dagenham Professional Debut. Dwight is the player who runs accross the screen at 1 second with the ball. 2 months after this video peterborough a professional club took him on loan he scored 4 goals in 5 games at pro level, and impressed so much that Peterborough signed him for £500,000 rising to £750,000 on 4 year contract at age 22. 6 months after signing for Peterborough he signed for Premier League Crystal Palace at 24 years for 5 Million £. This shows you that you have to apply for trials. This shows you that at a late age you can still become a pro player he chased his dream for 20 years and never gave up. His background is like every other player. He was in tier 9 of the Football System at 21 years. Now Plays in the Premier League.
