We got a call about this poor dog a few hours ago. She was trapped behind fencing on waste ground in the city. As you can see she is in horrendous condition. We dont know how she got there but luckily the people that stopped when they saw her were able to get her by climbing over the fencing. This dog has been suffering for a very long time. She will need surgery tomorrow to remove one eye and it is very doubtful that she has any sight in the other eye. Can you imagine the pain she is in. She is covered in mange and sores, is dehydrated, anaemic malnourished and scared. Why was she left to get in this condition, it is so unnecessary. Tonight she is in the vets on fluids and we will know more tomorrow. Our only comfort is at least she is not out on the streets suffering anymore. Cases like this show the importance of us having an out of hours service, sadly we get calls at day and night about dogs needing emergency care.
