We got a heads up this week about this new TV program called MY:24 from Naomi Simmonds, a youth worker at Banyule... About 3 years ago there was a news item on the YACVic mail out appealing for people to nominate young people whose life had taken a different direction following the events of one day in their life. It was for a tv series called MY24. I nominated one young man, Lucas Haynes, from our Banyule 100 project and he was chosen and had an episode dedicated to him. Super cool! Just thought you might like to know the outcome of brief mention in your newsletter. HOW COOL IS THAT? And by the way, the promo for this TV series looks awesome and really (not just saying it) inspirational. Definitely worth a watch! This story is such a testament to the dedicated work of youth workers, the potential of young people, the importance of their stories and also - ahem - how bloody ace YACVic is ;)
