We got our horses for out afternoon ride. We were much faster tacking! We all got out to the ring, just stated warming up our horses when we heard thunder. Even though it was not raining, for safety we had to stop our lesson. We were disappointed, but safety is paramount, so we understood that we could not ride in the thunder. Every day we have an unmounted lesson. Today we ended our day by learning horse anatomy. It is important to know the proper names of the parts of our horse, so when Julianne asks us, or we need to describe something on our horse, we do it correctly. Some parts were easy, and some were not. It was interesting to see where the horse’s arm is, as well as learning parts we had not heard of, like their crest, poll or dock!
