We got so much snow. How much? Well... a) I woke my daughter to help me shovel so I could get the car out of the driveway and down to the fix-it shop b) Halfway through, she said, We dont have to do the deck right now, do we? Me: The deck can collapse. I dont care. Snow is stupid. Her: If there was a party that ran strictly on snow removal, they would probably win any election in Canada. c) Trip down the hill was dodgy on account of the road not being plowed. Tried to stay in the tire tracks, but the cars undercarriage scraped the whole way down. d) Went to store on way home and bought marshmallows for hot chocolate as a carrot to encourage me on my walk home. Ate four while walking - necessary calories to make the journey of a thousand slippery footsteps. e) Went off path once while walking home and got a load of snow down my boot. f) Picked up text from MrC while walking home: Dont go down our road without calling for it to be plowed first. [Excellent advice. Wish Id seen it before c] g) I walk A LOT, and today, neighbours I had never seen before were not only outside shovelling, but stopped to jaw wag the moment I was in ear shot, out of breath and needing the break. h) One offered me a lift home and I actually considered it, despite loving my walks. I deeply regretted my refusal about fifteen minutes later. i) On arrival home, while I stood catching my breath and admiring the driveway cleared by sheer Girl Power, another neighbour came by with the cheerful news were due for another fifteen centimetres. Considered crying. j) After a quick shower and putting stew in the crock pot--Im going to be too tired to cook later--I ate two eggs on toast and three more marshmallows (dipped in chocolate chips. Still replacing calories.) I am now drinking fresh coffee and plan to work/rest for an hour or two before tackling the deck and clearing the driveway again. Fun!
