We got some wonderful footage from our drone shoot a couple of weeks ago, but it had one issue, which I expected: on the Wide setting, the GoPro gave some serious fisheye to the image, warping everything into curves. Its sort of a signature look, and people find it cool -- but Ive been dealing with tech in media long enough to know that stuff that looks cool now because it shows off a new technology, including the ways that it isnt quite right, becomes dated really quickly. Very soon, fisheye GoPro shots will look soooo 2014. (It might become retro sometime later, but that, too, will pass.) I tried a few tools that are supposed to handle this, including the GoPro Studio software and the stuff built into Premiere Pro CC, but nothing helped until I found this today: a tutorial on fixing the fisheye in After Effects. Its really good, with minimal fine-tuning. Its not perfect. Up/down and forward/back movements look better than pans. But it does what it need it to do. If interested, check out the video tutorial. https://youtube/watch?v=stmzNSCRI_M
