We had a GREAT turn out for the Migration Celebration at Little - TopicsExpress

We had a GREAT turn out for the Migration Celebration at Little Beaver State Park this past Saturday - especially considering that we had quite a bit of rain! 876 folks attended the event, going out on birding and nature walks, prowling for bugs on a bug hunt and taking Steve Rotschs photography workshop. Kids made bird feeders with Granny Sue Holstein using empty water bottles (recycling 101!) and wooden spoons in the morning then switched to making planters from more empty water bottles and decorating them with all kinds of cute shapes. Many plants are now spread around! Younger kids were out painting animal shapes with Jeff Hajenga of the WV DNRs Wildlife Diversity Program. Others were learning about the wide variety of natural diversity here in WV with the WV DNR interactive displays. Of course, the temporary tattoo booth was VERY busy! Here are some photos from the event - if you have some to share, e-mail them to [email protected] and well post them in the album. These first two photos are courtesy of Jodi French-Burr of New River Gorge National River.
