We had a brand new carrier a/c unit put in our home.....Everytime I drop that thermostat below 70 it freezes up. Its been 2 weeks, the company has come out 3 times. Its a 5 ton unit, and my house is 1700 sq foot. It is a doublewide. The owner himself called me and told me that 72 should be plenty cool enough, Im being unrealistic. This system was financed for us thru our bank. ... the old system was a 3 ton... ran nonstop.... But when I got up in the morning it was 60. This one freezes up overnight if I drop it below 70. Am I being unrealistic? we do have 13 windows. .. all covered in special screen and tinfoil to help reflect the heat. I wanted this system so bad so that I could take the tin foil off the windows.
