We had a busy day today. The day started with Henry and I - TopicsExpress

We had a busy day today. The day started with Henry and I spending a couple hours listening to special needs middle schoolers read. The kids were excited to read to a grandson of Ruckus. Ruckus is usually their reading partner but since Henry was visiting I figured it would be a good experience for him. Then it was a quick stop at home to pick up Ivan and Ruckus and head to MSU. It was time for them to donate blood. They love to visit their buddy Rose. They have her trained well as a treat dispenser. After they were done donating, Rose brought Kepler in to play. He has grown into a handsome boy. Even though he didnt make it as a Leader Dog he has important jobs-donating blood and taking care of the kids. It is hard to believe he is 4 1/2 years old. Ivan was happy to see his old buddy. Kepler still grins from ear to ear when he sees me and does a little happy dance. Then it was home long enough for me to change clothes and take care of dogs to be off again for the Leader Dog On Campus Volunteer Appreciation Banquet. I met some very nice people who volunteer in the kennel helping to make kennel life less stressful for our puppies. I made sure I thanked them for taking care of our puppies while they are at Leader Dog. I also met somebody who volunteers to help approve puppy raisers. What a great organization with so many dedicated volunteers. A lady was honored who has volunteered 60 years with Leader Dog! There were several people who also were mentioned as volunteers that have volunteered more than 300 hours last year as On-Campus volunteers. The theme of the night was Happy....so guess what song they had to play with a wonderful slide show of what else but puppies-------Harpers song--------The Happy Song. Great Day! Everybody is resting up to prepare for another action packed day for volunteering at two schools tomorrow!
