We had a fabulous day at Incas Secret yesterday! It simply makes my heart soar to be able to watch these very young children who are so well behaved hold their adorable birds! Their gentle handling is amazing. We had a family come visit all the way from the Lake Stevens area with their 9 year old son (Im almost 10!) who is wanting a bird and wanting to learn all the responsibilities that come with owning one. I was happy to be able to let him hold a new baby that isnt weaned yet. Our younger generation needs to learn about these creatures and understand why they are important in our ecosystem. The enrichment I hope they wind up with over their lifetimes will hopefully keep them aware and not just interested in laptops, phones, ipads and really learn what our earth is all about!
