We had a few snowflakes here today! The wintry front that swept through has made it a bit chilly but that doesn’t mean the fun has stopped. Quite the contrary!!! Look at what’s coming up for this week on the OBX… SPECIAL EVENTS “DOUGH DUMMIES” WORKSHOP – DARE COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL – November 9th and 16th – 9:30 a.m. – 300 Queen Elizabeth Ave, Manteo – Dare County Arts Councils is pleased to present a “Dough Dummies” workshop with artist Barbara Hanft. Open to children 5-10 years old, this workshop will make ornaments utilizing ordinary dough and embellishments. They are both fun to make and educational. Children will create several ornaments, which are perfect for keeping or gift giving. The cost of the workshop is $35 for both days. A light snack will be provided. Preregistration is required. The weekend celebration will provide a unique opportunity for veterans to participate in the national Veterans Writing Project, along with special guest, Joseph Bathanti, N.C. Poet Laureate, on Saturday and Sunday, November 16 and 17. Veterans, their families and the general public will also enjoy an evening concert, featuring Molasses Creek and Jonny Waters & Company, on Friday, November 15, at 7:00 p.m., at the Roanoke Island Festival Park.
