We had a great Special Mum and Baby group on Wednesday. Mums had some good ideas on what other mums can do to stay happy and healthy after the baby. Here they are! • Choose one room to keep clean, or one main area. It helps me feel calm to not see clutter and toys everywhere. • Cooking a good meal for supper and having a family dinner. That family bonding time makes me feel good. • Just being with the baby, just watching her and being peaceful. • A walk in nature and some fresh air. • Spending time with my mom or parents. • Getting caught up on work, so I dont have that feeling of being behind. • A good grocery shopping and feeling like I am stocked up for a week or more. • Getting exercise. • A shower with the door locked so nobody can interrupt. • Dressing nicely to go out somewhere. • Date nights with my partner. • A glass of wine. • Get away as a family and have time together, uninterrupted and away from all the things you have to do at home. • Sit back and let your partner take over the kids, and just watch and enjoy seeing the love and connection they have. • Get out of the house. And yes, a glass of wine is okay when you are breastfeeding. Or beer if you prefer beer. Keep it to one please!
