We had a great day today! It started with our meeting with Rebuilding Together Knoxville. Now that Eli is out of the hospital we can move forward with the home renovations to make it accessible for Eli. They will be starting the project at the end of the month :-) YAY!! He will finally be able to explore his own house, this is a game changer for him. Then we had the kids meet the teacher for school. Eli is in the same class he was in last year so he was thrilled to see all his teachers again. Sky is also very excited about her teachers for this year, they are both very sweet ladies. I think its going to be a great year. Sky is sad that its her last year at Amherst because she has loved all of her time there. We are so blessed by all of the Staff at Amherst Elementary. Tomorrow we will be heading back to Vandy as Eli has post op follow ups with Neurosurgery, ENT, Plastic Surgery, and Infectious Disease. We are praying that they will clear him to start school next week. We are also praying that his blood work looks good and that Infectious Disease will say he doesnt need to be on the IV antibiotics anymore. Chances are that he will have to stay on it for another 2 weeks due to the fact that the infection in his back had initially gone to the bone. Eli is doing really well and has gone the entire day without any Tylenol or ibuprofen. He amazes me daily with his strength and resilience.
