We had a great week at Pinnacle. We helped Russell from Houdeks Pumping Service in Lake Leelanau get his CDL-B license. Scott, from our last class, stopped by to show us his Peterbilt tractor and trailer rig. He started driving for Ennis Trucking in Traverse City exactly 6 days after graduating from Pinnacle! Marty and Chelsie, from our current class, both achieved the highly-desired Golden Shifter award -- evidence that both are making great progress. Marvin, who graduated from Pinnacle in April, came in to regale us with tales from his experience hauling oversize mobile homes across the mid-west. On Thursday, we hosted 19 youngsters from the Wexford-Missaukee Career Tech Centers summer camp. These 6th-9th graders are considering careers in operating & maintaining heavy equipment. They all got to drive the simulator and learn about trucks. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we secured a new source of financing for students. This new lender is willing to provide loans to borrowers with less-than-perfect credit. We think this will help many more people afford the training they need to qualify for one of the many good-paying truck driving jobs that are available. Drive safely.....
