We had a great weekend in Wimberley! It was so nice to getaway from the drama of the past couple of months! We got a little cottage in the woods with a hottub and relaxed Friday night. Saturday, we went to the market days and only stayed for a little bit. It was a little stressful getting Smash around the crowds, but she did great! It takes a lot of strategic steps from Dad n I to keep her protected and feeling stable. The use of a walker with a chair from Karen is the best tool we have! It enables Smash so much freedom and the ability to sit when she needs to rest. We left the crowds and headed into downtown Wimberley where we strolled at the river and visited a few more shops. It was so much easier for her to relax there! After a great day checking out the city, we went back to the cottage and enjoyed the hottub, a small fire, BBQ, and relaxed. All our worries and stresses were faded. Sunday, we went out to lunch before heading home and Spencer suggested we check out Wonder World. It was a blast from the past. Smash did really great maneuvering the cave and said she felt normal being able to do so. We stayed close to her to help her, however she was very much flying solo. We enjoyed the train ride and animals and began to leave. We realized the glass bottom boat tours were just a few miles away so we just had to check them out! It was amazing to ride and look under crystal clear water from a boat. It may have only been a weekend away, but we felt we were there for weeks! I can not express how recharged and relaxed we still are. It was beyond wonderful to finally shake all the stress and leave it behind! Most importantly, it was so wonderful to see Smash laugh, smile, giggle, and rebecome herself all over again! Priceless memories were created, yet we are most grateful for the ability to leave the stress behind and simply relax and just B-E! Xo
