We had a major panic over here. We ran out of our drinking water. There was a breakdown in communication, husby had our car, and suddenly I realize, we are out of drinking water, and with the car gone, I couldnt run out and get more. Last I had looked, yesterday, we still had several gallons of it, and today, theyre all gone. Yeah, total breakdown in communication. And our tap water, if we drink that, it makes us sick, so that is not an option for our family. (And yes, I realize, we TOTALLY need to invest in a Berkey so this never happens again.) :D Now, we used to have backups. We used to have raw milk in our fridge. We used to have seltzer water in cans in our fridge. But we havent done that lately. Since weve been drinking this mineral rich, very pure water, its really all any of us have craved, even the little one. Interesting, isnt it, when you run out of a life-giving staple, like drinking water. You wonder why you make a fuss out of other things, cause really, you dont need much. You need clean water, healthy food, a clean and safe place to sleep, and you need healthy relationships with lots of love. Thats it. And a lot of things come into perspective when any of those are threatened. Now, dont worry. Weve recovered from our panic and came up with a water solution. Weve also taken steps to figure out what went wrong in our communication so this absolutely does NOT happen again. I should say, what a lesson in how important communication is. One little word and this whole thing could have been completely avoided. A lot of stress and upset would have been totally missed. In our house, we are not upset about these types of situations. What we are most concerned with, is this a pattern? If something accidentally happens, that is one thing. But if it keeps happening because we are not learning and changing things that should be learned and changed, that is the part that is unacceptable. We realize mistakes are valuable learning opportunities, and if we dont make the most of them and learn from them, then were being utterly foolish. Baby steps. We grow, we misstep, we learn, we try again. You cant really ask for more. And you shouldnt need to. Cause it works.
