We had a meeting with one of our state Legislators today. This was a great meeting to discuss our programs and how Veteran’s Recreation & Rehabilitation Center will be able to reopen state parks and man them with Veterans. This will give Veterans jobs in maintenance, landscape, management, and other jobs. Other items discussed were the unused lands the DOT had to purchase and are now vacant to bring up to code and housing Veterans, working teams like the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) but place Veteran Teams to do the work, our support for Fish and game to clean up the debris along Washington State Rivers, streams, and creeks. Rapid and incident response teams in rural communities to reduce emergency response time. With these steps in place, Washington can decrease the burden on social services and Veteran unemployment, increase revenue and make our state parks more handicapped accessible.
