We had a pleasant surprise today at CWRC. One of our rehabilitated pelicans from last year came flying in today. When small fish are hard to find in the gulf, older pelicans know to go inland up creeks and rivers to find fish and get out of the cold wind. This young pelican was soft released on the Graham Creek Nature Preserve grounds with the hope that if it couldnt find enough to eat, it would return for a free meal. This is the first return weve had, and we are very excited!!
