We had a support request from a former Royal Navy serviceman stating that he was at the end of his tether. He does not get paid until the end of next week and is trying to support his ex-partner and daughter whilst his ex-partner is off work ill and struggling on SSP. Money has run out and he has to go away on a course next week and is distraught because their cupboards are empty and there is no prospect of food shopping or money for another week. His 8yr old daughter has to go to school and needs lunches. The cupboards and fr/fr are bare and he really was deeply stressed and felt responsible. He was told about us by the MOD Veterans Welfare Service who informed him we may be able to help. And we can! A mass food shop is being delivered tomorrow morning that will not only sort them for next week but also the week after meaning that they can put some money aside for gas/elec and Christmas.
