We had an appointment with the pulmonologist today. The appointment did not go great. She did not like the way he sounded today and ordered a chest x-Ray and did a nasal swab to check and see if he had a viral infection. She did the x-ray because she is worried he is aspirating because he takes too long to eat and to rule out pneumonia because she did hear some crackling. She said if the GI doctor does the surgery for his reflux then she strongly suggests we do a feeding tube. She would like to do another swallow study soon to see if he is aspirating. She had in her notes that the echo they had done a couple months ago said he had a hole in his heart causing a murmur which we knew. The doctors had told us before that he would more than likely outgrow it and it wasnt an issue. Today the doctor said that the notes wanted it repeated and if the hole is still there then Brantley may possibly have heart surgery. Her main concern is keeping him healthy so he is able to have surgery next month.
