We had been sitting in Eastern Wyoming all day, watching updrafts - TopicsExpress

We had been sitting in Eastern Wyoming all day, watching updrafts go up and then die. It was afairly low risk day with only a 2% tornado prob from SPC. We went and met up with fellow chasers Scott McPartland, Dave Lewison, Stephen Barabas, and a few others. Off in the distance we noted what appeared to be a very solid updraft however the radar signature looked terrible. We made our way towards the storm however and noted a fairly low and organized base, withen a few mintues we noted a little niple starting to drop, we all started yelling, Pull off!! I think we have a funnel!! And wouldnt you know, we ended up watching a very photogenic funnel cloud for 5-10 minutes. This funnel made it about half way to the ground and I would not be at all surprised it it was on the ground but it was behind hills and no one could confirm it for sure. This was also the one year mark since Tim, Paul, and Carl were killed in the El Reno EF5 so we dedicated this chase day and funnel to them. May 31, 2014 Chugwater, WY
